Fogo Na Cabeça: Fire In The Head

An evening of Afro-Brazilian dance, live music, and martial art, fused with contemporary dance and FIRE. Samba Fogo's largest and most elaborate show yet, featuring special guest Mestrando Jamaika and Salt Lake Capoeira. Recommended for ages 8+. Reception and kid-friendly events in the lobby after the show.

Drawing on rich Afro-Brazilian traditions and mythology, Fogo Na Cabeça features live Brazilian and Afro-Brazilian music... and dance, the Afro-Brazilian martial art of capoeira and acrobatics by Mestrando Jamaika and Salt Lake Capoeira, as well as contemporary dance, folklore, and fire spinning. With a cast of over 20 professional dancers, musicians, martial artists and fire artists, Fogo Na Cabeça will educate, excite, and enliven audiences.

Fogo Na Cabeça ticketholders receive a 50% discount on a cultural arts workshop taught by Samba Fogo members on Saturday, March 19. Workshop is open to all ages and ability levels and will teach Afro-Brazilian drum, dance, and martial art. Workshop is $20 for general public, $10 for Fogo Na Cabeça ticketholders.

This live music and dance concert and corresponding cultural arts workshop is supported by the Utah Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts.
