Louisa May Alcott: The Woman Behind Little Women
All programs will be held in the Storytelling Wing at 7:00 PM unless otherwise noted.

April 19:
Kickoff: 19th Century Fun and Storytelling
2:00-4:00 pm
Join us for an afternoon of 19th century games, crafts and storytelling to kickoff a month-long series exploring the life of the author of Little Women. Storytelling a
t 2:30 and 3:30.

Louisa May Alcott: An Introduction through BooksJo in a Vortex
History will come alive as Maggie Kopp, curator of the Louisa May Alcott collection at the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Library at BYU, introduces the audience to Louisa May Alcott and her contemporaries through rare editions of works, letters, and pamphlets by Alcott, her father Bronson, mentor Ralph Waldo Emerson, friend Henry David Thoreau, and many others. This program is one of the few times these museum-quality works will leave BYU campus.

tt was a self-trained and successful writer. Dr. Suzanne Lundquist of BYU will talk about Alcott the author and about her exceptional literary success beyond . Dr. Lundquist will also discuss how Alcott used her role as a writer to advance issues dear to her like Abolitionism and women’s rights.

April 28:
Poe and Alcott and the Rise of American Gothic NovelsMany people have little idea that Louisa May Alcott wrote several gothic thrillers. Join Dr. Dennis Perry of BYU as he talks about these little-known works and how they fit into a larger American Gothic fascination epitomized by Edgar Allan Poe and others.

Rockin' In Utah State Park

Family Extravaganza
Bring the family and join Mayor Jerry Washburn as he cuts the ribbon on Orem's new performance stage at City Center Park. Then enjoy performances by acclaimed singer/songwriter Kurt Bestor, BYU's Snythesis Jazz Band, SCERA's Youth Theater Acting Up!, and Hale Center Theater Orem Actors.

Viva Vegetables: Spring Treat
It's finally starting to warm up, and early season crops are appearing in markets and grocery stores.  Join Julia Iverson from USU’s Food $ense program for tips and recipes for adding spring treats like asparagus and rhubarb to your healthy diet. Food samples will be included as part of the program.

I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
