Countdown To Solar Eclipse

The annular solar eclipse is THIS Sunday, May 20th 2012!

WHY are we making a big deal out of it on Enjoy Utah? A small town in Southern Utah has been named as a "viewing hot spot" for this event. People are coming from all over the Western United States to view the eclipse. I have had emails from California, Nevada, Oregon and more from people saying they will be in Utah for this event!

To prepare for this event, whether you are staying in your hometown to view it, or heading down to Kanarraville, there are a few things you can do to get ready.

Visit the Clark Planetarium
They have an entire display on eclipses and what they are. It's very educational, and great for kids to know what they are going to be seeing. They also have a TON of information on their website.

Purchase your glasses!
The Clark Planetarium has eclipse viewing glasses for $2 at their store. This is the best way to see the eclipse.

Make a pinhole projector
This is a fun family project if you enjoy doing crafts with your kids. Even if you have the glasses, this is a fun way to view the eclipse.
